LISTENING SKILLS

Listening is one of the most often used activities yet one of the least understood.  Many of us have been accused of not listening properly.  Listening effectively is actually a very complex activity.  Before good listening can happen you must want to be a good listener.

Effective listening skills results in fewer errors and confusion in the workplace.

The participants will learn the importance listening plays in creating a successful working environment.  Each dialogue is an opportunity to establish and develop a strong communication link between the speaker and the listener.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES:

How we listen

Key elements of good listening

Hear the message

Interpret the message

Evaluate the message

Respond to the message

The participants will learn:

Developing the techniques critical to good listening skills

The process of active listening

Speaker and listener responsibilities

Checking for understanding as well as learn to implement good listening practices for better performance in the workplace
