Competency Modeling Process

Articulating the Process

Our approach to competency modeling is in articulating the process across multiple perspectives, including: Industry, Business, Interpersonal, Professional, Operational, and Functional, as well as Work Environment Competencies.

This approach provides your organization a multi-dimensional view that goes beyond traditional skills, knowledge and attitudes and allows you to see results as actionable knowledge and insight for managing and growing your business.

Defining the Competency

Global competencies are those core competencies required to execute the organization's strategic business model.

Functional competencies are those unique competencies required to perform the organization's functional responsibilities.

Industry or domain competencies are those competencies required to effectively compete in one's industry.

Conducting the Assessment

Competencies reside in both employees and institutions. Competencies are uniquely embedded across the enterprise in three distinct areas, including (1) individuals, (2) teams, work groups, and departments and (3) enterprise-wide.

Assessment instruments are multi-rater, single-rater, target group rater, and benchmark rater which are uniquely designed to assess individuals, departments, enterprises, and position benchmarking.

Producing Reports and Analysis

The production of reports include: summary of results in graphical, tabular and chart form, analysis of survey results, analysis of non-response, and briefings on characteristics and attributes represented in the data.

Aligning Performance with Business Objectives

By aligning human performance with corporate strategic business objectives, everything in the organization drives toward achieving the goals of the business.  Applying a systemic approach integrates processes mapped to the competencies to create consistency across all employee training and development efforts, thus enabling the company to achieve higher return on the time and budgets invested in human resources.
