Personalization is the enterprise portal's key functionality, which
involves adapting the display of information down to a single user's
requirement, device, channel and even languages.
The system is divided into two
parts; the infrastructure and the application. The industry labels them
the application platform suite (APS) and the smart enterprise suite (SES).
The APS products consist of a web function that provides integration and
applications services. The SES products have a portal function and add a
range of products such as content management, collaboration, e-learning
and business intelligence.
Software:
The software is developed within Microsoft platforms and operating systems
(Microsoft Windows, SQL, etc.) This
includes web development in Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 7.0, Visual Basic
7.0, and JavaScript. The servers run Microsoft operating systems, Internet
Information Server (web server), Microsoft Transaction Server and MS SQL
Server (database server).
